The visionary game developer, the mind behind the globally famous video game Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in California aged 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The influential industry figure passed away following his automobile collided and caught fire on a highway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, as reported by.

"This is a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
