The City of Angels witnessed citywide festivities after the Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Fans worldwide united with local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in 25 years that a franchise has achieved back-to-back championships.

Victory Parade Draws Enormous Turnout

Local celebrations included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.

Social media videos depict thousands of Los Angeles residents packing downtown streets, many displaying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, raising the championship trophy high.

“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an interpreter.

The parade route concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the team walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Early Celebrations and Player Reactions

Festivities started prior to the procession, with Dodgers fans setting off fireworks in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on the previous evening.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke directly about the win.

“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto said. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

Varied Responses and City Unity

However, the team owner received a cooler welcome at the rally. Video footage from the event seem to depict him taking the stage to a combination of cheers and boos, with negative shouts interrupting his speech.

The championship acted as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people attended to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, supporters this year showed equal or greater support.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he remarked. “These fans are crazy. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
